Two minor daughters of Jaipur's Lawyer, who went missing on Feb 3, were found in Lucknow on Wednesday.

DCP (South) Mridul Kachawa told the news agency that both the sisters were found doing door-to-door marketing for a fly repellent product. He said that they will also investigate the people who hired the two girls because they were minors.

After the girls had gone missing, the Advocates in the city had held demonstrations for 2 days last week to protest against police inaction in tracing the girls. Police had then formed a SIT to track down the girls.

The DCP said, the girls are being taken to Jaipur where they will be presented before the Court. He said that a team of over 14 police personnel had been camping in Lucknow for the past several days.

He said that “We received very good ground support from the Lucknow police. Our teams were also working extensively for the past week. In fact, in the last 72 hours alone, we checked several CCTV footage in Lucknow city".

Kachawa, who landed in Lucknow last week, said that his team went to over 300 houses in Lucknow city where the 2 sisters had visited as part of their door-to-door marketing job.

He added, “We spoke to all residents where the girls had earlier visited. Then, we had also issued several posters with photographs & details of the two missing girls. This effort yielded good results & the police received a tip-off about the minors".

“There were numerous challenges & several hurdles but the city police finally managed to safely recover the two girls,” Kachawa told the news agency.

The father of the 2 girls had said that he had dropped his daughters to their school on Feb 3. Later in the day, the father learned that both the sisters left school & could not be found anywhere. He then filed an FIR at Mahesh Nagar police station & raised doubts about the school. The incident sparked a major protest by lawyers, who demanded that the girls be tracked without any delay.

Feeling the heat, the police constituted a special investigation team & dispatched them to multiple cities.
