A Court Calendar is a system of organizing days for Apex Court, High Courts as well as District Courts with social, religious Holidays for administrative purposes.
This is done by giving names to periods of time, typically days, weeks, months and years.
A date is the designation of a single, specific day within such a system. A calendar is also a physical record (often paper) of such a system. A calendar can also mean a list of planned events, such as a court calendar or a partly or fully chronological list of documents.
Different Colour combinations are used to depict Holidays for different tiers of Courts. Usually the Court Calendar is prepared well in advance by a Committee of Judges in SC and HCs.
Court Calendars not only vary from Central Govt Calendars and State Govt Calendars but also vary from individual High Courts. There is a special mention of Gazetted Holidays and Restricted Holidays.
They are issued by Secretary General of thr Supreme Court and Registrar Generals of High Courts.
