About the Organizer

Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram formed in 1875 is one of the oldest institutions imparting legal education in India. Affiliated to the Faculty of Law of the University of Kerala, the college is supervised and controlled by the Government of Kerala. The National Service Scheme Unit of GLC TVPM also has a proud history of community service of over 50 years commencing from the year 1969.

About the Seminar

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram is organizing a TWO DAY NATIONAL SEMINAR on Transgressing Child Rights: A Retreat of Cultural, Social And Moral Values on November 21 and 22, 2019.

The seminar envisages a discussion and presentation on three aspects namely Child Rights, Violations of Child Rights
and Child Protection.

The organizers of the Seminar call upon legal professionals, academicians from other social science disciplines, administrators, university students, young and upcoming research scholars, social activists and representatives of governmental and non – governmental organizations to present their research papers relevant to the mentioned themes.

Call for Papers

An abstract not exceeding 350 words shall be submitted in .doc or .docx format for consideration on or before 4th November 2019 to iqac.glc.tvpm[at]gmail.com. Co-authorship up to 2 persons is permitted.

The abstract shall contain:

  • Title of paper
  • A brief idea of the paper
  • Conclusion indicating the author’s perspective.

The abstract shall indicate the name, designation, Institution details, e-mail address and Telephone numbers of all contributors. In the case of co-authorship, each author will have to register separately in the event of participation in the
seminar.

Selected abstracts will be intimated after blind peer review. Thereafter, the full papers shall be submitted on or before 10th November to iqac.glc.tvpm[at]gmail.com.

Guidelines for Submitting Full paper

  • Length of the paper shall not exceed 2500 words (including footnotes).
  • Format: MS Word, Font Type: Times New Roman, Font Size: 12 Point, Line Spacing: 1.5 (in case of footnotes, font size is 10 point & line spacing is 1), justified text and 1-inch margins on all sides.
  • For the title of the Paper, 14 point capitals may be used.
  • Name and Designation of the author/authors shall be mentioned below the title of the paper.
  • Harvard Blue Book Style (19th edition) shall be used for citation.
  • The last date of submission of the full paper is 10th November 2019.
  • The subject of the email must be “Full Paper Submission – NSCR-Your Name”.
  • Authors should provide their name, designation and institution details in the e-mail body as well.
  • Full papers shall undergo Blind peer review and Plagiarism check. Plagiarized papers shall be rejected.

Revision

Revision (if any) suggested by the reviewer of the paper shall be included.

Revisions suggested are on the basis of blind peer review. Abstracts and full papers mailed to iqac.glc.tvpm[@]gmail.com on or before 10th November will only be considered. Status of the acceptance of full papers shall be communicated after blind peer review and plagiarism check.

The registration details shall be informed with the communication of acceptance.

Best Paper Awards

Best Paper from the seminar shall be awarded the title of “BEST RESEARCH PAPER”.

  • Last date for submission of Abstract: November 4, 2019.
  • Communication of status of abstract: November 5, 2019.
  • Submission of revised abstract (if needed): November 7, 2019.
  • Submission of Full papers: November 10, 2019.
  • Communication of status of Full papers: November 11, 2019.
  • Submission of revised papers (if needed): November 13, 2019.
  • Registration: November 21, 2019.
  • Date of Seminar: 21 st & 22nd November 2019.
