THE 252ND MONSOON SESSION OF PARLIAMENT
The 252nd Parliamentary Monsoon Session has concluded on Wednesday because of novel Coronavirus pandemic. The session began on September 14 and, after 7 days of functioning, was adjourned sine die. In this Parliamentary session the Parliament took up a legislative agenda that was designed to usher in reforms to affect all sections of society positively. It included people engaged in many fields, farmers, workers, employees and health workers.
This Parliamentary Session is very productive and as per the records the productivity of the Lok Sabha recorded 167 per cent and the productivity of the Rajya Sabha recorded 100.47 percent.
I. BILLS INTRODUCED IN PARLIAMENT
In this Monsoon Session 22 total Bills were introduced.
In Lok Sabha- In Lower house of Parliament total 16 Bills were Introduced.
In Rajya Sabha- In Upper house of Parliament total 6 Bills were Introduced.
II. BILLS PASSED BY PARLIAMENT
A total of 25 Bills were passed in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha respectively, Including 11 Bills to replace the ordinances promulgated in June.
“Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha individually passed 25 Bills each. 27 Bills were passed by both the Houses of Parliament which is best ever rate of passage of Bills per day - 2.7 Bills,” stated by Parliamentary Affairs minister Pralhad Joshi.
