Heard Mr. R. Sarma, learned counsel for the petitioners. Also heard Mr. U. Sarma, learned counsel appearing on behalf of Mr. S.M.T. Chistie, learned counsel for the respondents/contemnors.

Mr. Sarma, learned counsel appearing on behalf of Mr. Chistie, learned counsel for the respondents/contemnors has produced the judgment and order dated 16.07.2025, passed by this Court, in WP(C) No. 6435/2017 and other connected writ petition, and submits that the order dated 18.12.2017, was an interim order passed in the aforementioned petitions and the said writ petitions have finally been disposed of, vide judgment and order dated 16.07.2025, and as such, the interim order stands merged with the final judgment and order dated 16.07.2025, and consequently, this contempt petition becomes infructuous and accordingly, it is contended to close the same.

Taking note of the submissions of learned counsel for both the parties, and also considering the fact that WP(C) No. 6435/2017 and another connected writ Page No.# 4/4

petition had already been disposed of, vide judgment and order dated 16.07.2025, and the interim order dated 18.12.2017, stands merged with the final judgment and order dated 16.07.2025, this contempt petition stands closed.
