G.S.R. 468(E). - In exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-section (1) of Section 21, read with Section 7 of the Coinage Act, 1906 (3 of 1906), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely :-

Short title and commencement.- (i) These rules may be called the Coinage of the Hundred Rupees and Five Rupees coined in commemoration of "150th Birth Anniversary of Lok Manya Bal Gangadhar Tilak" Rules, 2007.

(ii) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

Definition.- In these rules, "Act" means the Coinage Act, 1906 (3 of 1906).
Standard Weight and Remedy allowed.- Standard Weight and Remedy allowed on coins of One Hundred Rupees and Five Rupees denominations, coined under the provisions of Section 6 of the Act to commemorate the occasion of "150th Birth Anniversary of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak" and the remedy allowed in making of such coins shall be as specified in the Table below:-

One Hundred Rupees	35 Grams	1/500^th plus or minus for Silver, that is to say the silver content may vary from 498 to 502 per 1000.	1/100^th plus or minus that is to say, the weight, could vary from 34.65 grams to 35.35 grams.
Five Rupees	9 Grams	1/100^th plus or minus both for Copper and Nickel i.e. to say, copper could vary from 74% to 76% and Nickel from 24% to 26%	1/40^th plus or minus, that is to say, the weight could vary from 8.7750 grams to 9.2250 grams.
