The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Sub Inspector and an Assistant Sub Inspector of Bihar Police in an on-going investigation of a case related to alleged escape of an accused from Police Station Kateya, District Gopalganj (Bihar). The said SI was then SHO at the relevant period and the ASI was the IO of concerned case.
CBI had registered the case on 02.03.2023 in compliance with the orders dated 06.02.2023 of Hon’ble High Court, Patna passed in Cr. JC No. 535 of 2022 and took over the investigation of FIR No. 190/2021, earlier registered at Police Station Kateya, District Gopalganj (Bihar) on a complaint from Chowkidar, from whose custody the accused allegedly escaped on 07.06.2021.
Both the arrested accused will be produced today before the Competent Court.
