In exercise of the powers conferred by section 11 read with subsection (1a) and (2) of section 6A of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly (Officers and Members Emoluments and Pension) Act, 1956 (No. 6 of 1957) the State Government hereby makes the following rules with respect to the furnishing and maintenance of Residence of the Speaker of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, namely:-
- Short title and commencement.- These rules may be called the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Speaker's (Furnishing and Maintenance of Residence) Rules, 1990. They shall come into force at once.
- Definitions.- In these rules, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context: -
(a) "Official residence" means a building set apart by the Government for the residence of the Speaker of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly:
(b) "Speaker" means an officer of the Legislative Assembly for the State as defined in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly (Officers and Members Emoluments and Pension) Act, 1956.
- Furniture facilities and maintenance.- When a building is earmarked as an official residence of the Speaker, the maximum expenditure to be incurred on the initial furnishing thereof shall be limited to [Rs. 60,000/- with one Air Conditioner in Bed Room]on the terms and conditions as contained in the Rajasthan Ministers Official Residences (Use and Maintenance) Rules, 1966 as amended from time to time.
