1. The petitioner is aggrieved by respondents not having granted him increment

upon completion of one year service w.e.f. 30.11.2013 till 30.11.2014.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that an employee would be

entitled to increment on completion of 12 months of service on the very first

day of the next month. Learned counsel places reliance upon a judgment of

this Court rendered in CWP-32598-2019 titled as Gurdev Singh and others

Vs. State of Punjab and another, decided on 16.03.2022 (Annexure P-5).

3. It has been submitted that although the petitioner had submitted a

representation dated 01.02.2023 (Annexure P-3) in this regard followed by a

reminder dated 06.04.2023 (Annexure P-4), but to no avail.

4. Notice of motion.

5. At this stage, Mr. Inderpreet Singh Kang, AAG, Punjab , has put in

appearance on behalf of respondents and accepts notice. He has submitted

that the representation filed by petitioner shall be considered and disposed of

in accordance with law.

6. In view of the aforesaid submissions, the present writ petition is disposed of

with a direction to the respondents to consider the representation (Annexure

P-3) in accordance with law and to dispose of the same expeditiously

preferably within a period of 4 months from today.
