In view of the statement made by CJI Bobde in concern to the need of getting rid from robes and gowns as a precautionary measure for COVID-19 spread, the Competent Authority of the Supreme Court has issued direction for the same.
It has informed via notice today that Advocates may wear 'plain shirt/ salwar-kameez/ saree' along with plain white band until the exigencies exist/ further orders.
Earlier today, CJI in a video-conferencing has hinted on the changing of Dress Code as part of the strategy plan to cop with the pandemic spread.
