On Thursday, Pakistan's Top Court granted a 6-month conditional extension to Army chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa, a move which is being seen as a snub to PM Imran Khan's Govt.
A 3-Member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by CJP Asif Saeed Khan Khosa & comprising Justices Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel & Mansoor Ali Shah, in its short order directed the Govt. to bring necessary legislation within 6 months' time, Geo TV reported.
Bajwa, whose original 3-year tenure was set to expire on Thursday at midnight, can now continue as the Army chief for another 6 months.
