Family of the deceased had alleged that she was being harassed for Dowry.
On Thursday, a sitting Haryana Judge was arrested for the Murder of his wife in the year of 2013.
Ravneet Garg, is Civil Judge in Kaithal, Haryana, was posted as Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) in July 2013 when his wife's bullet-ridden body was found at the police lines in Gurgaon.
It was treated initially as a suicide case but when Geetanjali's family alleged she was being harassed for dowry , CBI enquiry was demanded by them.
CBI officials stated that judge has been arrested under Sections 302 and Section 34 (murder committed with common intention), IPC and he has been taken into CBI custody for five days.
It has been alleged by Geetanjali's family that harassment by Ravneet Garg's family started from birth of the couple's first daughter and things worsened further after birth of their second girl child.
