On Saturday, a sitting Judge of the High Court of Calcutta, Justice Ashis Kumar Chakraborty passed away at the age of 55.
Justice Chakraborty had gone to Jalpaiguri for circuit Bench when he suffered a heart attack.
He was born on Dec 12, 1965.
He graduated in Law (5 years) from the University of Calcutta in Nov 1992 and was enrolled as an Advocate on Janu 29, 1993.
He mainly practised at Calcutta High Court as well as the Apex Court in Civil, Company, Arbitration and Consitutional Matters.
Justice Chakraborty elevated to the Bench as an Additional Judge of the HC at Calcutta on Oct 22, 2014, and was appointed as Permanent Judge of the Calcutta High Court on 06.10.2016.
