IN THE HIGH COURT OF ORISSA AT CUTTACK
                                W.P. (C) No.3433 of 2026
            Avaya Kumar Parida .... Petitioner
                                                          Mr. B. Satapathy, Advocate

                                             -Versus-
Union Bank of India, Jajpur .... Opposite Party
                                                     Mr. G.K. Sundaray, Advocate
on behalf of Mr. Tuna Sahu, Advocate

             CORAM:
                            JUSTICE DIXIT KRISHNA SHRIPAD
                            JUSTICE CHITTARANJAN DASH
                                            ORDER
Order No. 05.02.2026
   01.
                     Petition prayer reads as under:

"In the facts and circumstances of the case, the humble petitioners fervently pray this Hon'ble Court to be graciously pleased to issue notice to the Opp.party, call for the relevant records and after hearing the counsel of the parties, issue a writ in the nature of mandamus or any other appropriate writ commanding Opp.party/Bank to consider the request letter of the petitioner and settle the loan amount outstanding against him by giving reasonable time waiving penal interest in the interest of justice.

And/or pass such other order/direction as deems fit and proper in the interest of justice."

2. Learned counsel for the Petitioner, giving up of the said prayer, very fair submits that if a direction is issued to the OP- Bank to take a call on the representation/legal notice dated 16.01.2026, in a time bound way and in accordance with law, his client will be satisfied.

3. Learned Panel counsel appearing for the Bank although initially opposed the petition, now very fairly submits that a reasonable time be granted and all contentions be kept open, so that consideration of the subject representation takes place at the hands of the Bank. This is appreciable.

In the above circumstances, Writ Petition is disposed off directing the OP-Bank to consider the subject representation/legal notice within a period of three (3) weeks and inform result of such consideration to the Petitioner within one (1) week next following. All contentions are kept open.

Web copy of the order to be acted upon by all concerned.
