Heard Mr. G. Chamuah, learned counsel for the applicant. Also heard Ms. S. Jahan, learned Addl. P.P. Assam appearing for the State.

By the judgment and order dated 25-08-2023 passed by the learned Special Judge, POCSO, Lakhimpur in connection with Special (POCSO) Case No. 96/2019, the applicant was convicted under Section 376 IPC and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 12 years and also to pay fine of Rs. 5,000/- and since then the applicant is in custody.

By filing this I.A. the applicant is seeking suspension of the jail sentence and also for his release on bail.

Ms. S. Jahan, learned Addl. P.P. Assam seeks 02 weeks time to file objection.
