A regulation to apply the Indian Tea Control (Amendment) Act, 1948, to the district of Darjeeling.

Whereas it is expedient to apply the Indian Tea Control (Amendment) Act, 1948, to the district of Darjeeling;

It is hereby enacted as follows :-

1. Short title.- This Regulation may be called the Indian Tea Control (Amendment) Darjeeling District Regulation, 1948.
2. Application of Act 19 of 1948 to the Darjeeling district.- The Indian Tea Control (Amendment) Act, 1948, shall apply to the district of Darjeeling and shall be deemed to have applied to the said district on and from the 1st day of April, 1948.
3. Validation of certain acts and proceedings.- Anything done or any action taken or any proceedings commenced before the commencement of this Regulation which, if the Indian Tea Control (Amendment) Act, 1948, had applied to and come into force in the district of Darjeeling on and from the 1st day of April, 1948, could have been validly done, taken or commenced shall not be invalid by reason of the fact that the said Act did not so apply and come into force but shall be deemed to have been done, taken or commenced in exercise of the powers conferred by or under the Indian Tea Control Act, 1938, as amended by the Indian Tea Control (Amendment) Act, 1948, as if the Indian Tea Control (Amendment) Act, 1948, had applied to and come into force in the said district on and from the 1st day of April, 1948.
