No. G.S.R.7/C.A.8/23/Section 32/Amendment/79. - With reference to Punjab Government Department of Labour and Employment Notification No. G.S.R. 115/C.A.8/23/Amd./78, dated 26th October, 1978, and in exercise of the powers conferred by the Section 32 of the Workmen's Compensation Act, 1923 (Central Act VIII of 1923), and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, the Governor of Punjab is pleased to make the following rules further to amend the Workmen's Compensation Rules, 1924, published, with Government of India Notification No. L-1182, dated 26th June, 1924, namely :-
Amendments
- These rules may be called the Workmen's Compensation (Punjab Amendment) Rules, 1979.
- In the Workmen's Compensation Rules, 1924 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules), in rule 1-A, the words and figures "as formed by section 11 of the State Reorganisation Act, 1956" shall be omitted.
- In the said rules, in rule 8, in clause (a) of the proviso to sub-rule (2), for the words "in such manner as he thinks fit", the words "through a process server or through registered post" shall be substituted.
- In the said rules, in rule 39, in sub-rule (2), for the words, brackets and figures "sub-section (1)" the words, brackets and figures "sub-rule (1)" shall be substituted.
- In the said rules, in rule 54, for the words, "Hindi and Punjabi" the words "the Official Language of the State and the Language understood by a majority of the workers" shall be substituted
- In the said rules, in Form-A, the word and the sign "cast........" shall be omitted.
