Court approves withdrawal of case filed against Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya

Hon'ble Justice Balamukund, Judge of the Special Court accepted the plea of ​​the Government of Uttar Pradesh, seeking permission to withdraw the trial case against Keshav Prasad Maurya.

The order was given by the Court after hearing the arguments submitted by ADGC Rajesh Gupta. The court said that there was no loss of any kind to the public in this case, so the government is allowed to withdraw the case.

Background of the case:

On August 25, 2008, Chandrasekhar Prasad police station in-charge had filed a report on Mohabbatpur Pinsa police station in Kaushambi district that some people started announcing on the loudspeaker by organizing a fake institution and then organized the Durga pooja for permission. After investigation in this regard, it was found that the institution was fake and when this meeting was held, at that time Section 144 was enforced which was violated.

The police had submitted the chargesheet under sections 467, 468, 471 and 188 Indian Penal Code after deliberation. The court took action taking cognizance in which he was released on bail.

The Uttar Pradesh government decided to withdraw the case in public interest. Subsequently, on the orders of the District Magistrate, the Government Advocate submitted an application for permission to withdraw the suit, on which the order was passed.
