About Jeevika Fellowship

CCS is offering the Jeevika Fellowship to law students from April 2022 to March 2023 to provide legal aid and spread awareness no the rights of street vendors in Delhi.

The organizing team seeks to engage 10-15 law students, across colleges, passionate about assisting street vendors in Delhi. This team will train all fellows on filing complaints, collecting grievance data, and spreading awareness on the legal rights of street vendors.

About the Fellowship Opportunity

The Centre for Civil Society is offering Jeevika fellowship to law students from March 2022 to December 2023. The fellows will be providing legal aid and spreading awareness on the rights of street vendors in Delhi.

Opportunities Offered

• Apply legal training to real-world problems and assist street vendors in enforcing their rights
• Interact with senior team members at CCS and understand research in the Indian policy landscape
• Receive training on research and writing
• Get an opportunity to publish in CCS blogs such as Azadi.me and Spontaneous Order
• Gain grassroots experience and engage with the National Hawkers Federation
• Access CCS alumni network and programs (workshops on rule of law, markets, individual freedom and more) worth Rs. 10,000 in a year

Requirements (Eligibility Criteria)

• Based in Delhi-NCR
• Willing to travel locally
• Fluent in Hindi
• In their II/III/-year of a 5-year LL.B. or be in their I/II-year of a 3-year LL.B. programme during the academic year 2021-22.
• Prior experience in field work, providing legal aid, volunteership and leadership roles (desirable)
