The next Maharashtra Online Lok Adalat is tentatively to be held from 14th September - 05th October and Sama has been given the fantastic opportunity to be given the role as the technology facilitator for the same. Sama will be aiding in bringing this Lok Adalat online.
Sama has always promoted youth participation and in providing ample opportunities for law students to have avenues of receiving first hand experience in all our projects. It is with great pleasure that we would like to invite law students to participate in this access to justice initiative of an online Lok Adalat and work closely with Sama in helping conduct the Online Lok Adalat on 25th September.
If you wishes to sign up as a Case Manager, you can fill up this form to their express interest for the same. The Case managers will have an opportunity of aiding the Maharashtra State Legal Service Authorities, interacting with district secretaries, various litigants and also gain first hand knowledge on how to use an ODR platform and see real life dispute resolutions taking place online. Apart from receiving certificates for successfully completing working on this project, Sama additionally, will be felicitating the Top 3 best performing Case Managers. (Rs.5000, Rs.3000, Rs.2000)
It's worth noting that DE JURE (Data and Evidence for justice reform, part of the World Bank Group ) is closely working with Sama as a knowledge partner to evaluate the effectiveness of Online Lok Adalats in India and conduct an impact assessment of this project on all stakeholders. Selected students will also be given the opportunity to part take in the same and assist the World Bank Group which will be a fantastic experience.
Certain Sama appointed Mediators will be part of the Lok Adalat pre counselling sessions. Students will be allowed to shadow and assist these mediators to get first hand insights on how online dispute resolution works and will be able to interact and learn from these mediators as well.
