April 22, 2019:

HSA Advocates Sr. Delhi Corporate Partner Aparajit Bhattacharya and Sr. Mumbai Projects Partner Anjan Dasgupta have both resigned today, and are understood to be in very advanced discussions to join DSK Legal, as per sources.

Both are understood to be leaving with their teams, which could include up to seven other partners making up to a total of 27 fee-earners, according to our sources.

It is understood that an HSA Bangalore partner may also be moving as part of the deal.

Bhattacharya specialises in corporate, M&A and private equity, having acted for clients Eternis Fine Chemicals and Hero Electric Vehicles in transactions last year.

Dasgupta is an infrastructrure and energy projects transactional lawyer.

Bhattacharya, a Symbiosis Pune graduate, had begun his career in 2002 at Hindustan Unilever in-house, after articles at Crawford Bayley. In 2003 he had joined Trilegal, moving to HSA in 2004.

Dasgupta, also a Symbi grad, from 2002, had also effectively begun his career at Trilegal (from 2002 to 2004).

He has been at HSA for a good while: he had joined in 2011 after having been a senior associate at Herbert Smith Freehills in London, where he had worked for four years.

Between 2005 & 2007 he had worked at Norton Rose Fulbright in Toronto after an LLM at the University of Toronto.
