In a significant digital-court advancement, the Supreme Court has rolled out an upgraded version of its e-filing platform, designed to streamline access for both advocates and litigants. The announcement was made by Chief Justice of India BR Gavai during the morning session, marking the beginning of a pilot phase.
According to the CJI, the revamped system consolidates multiple essential services, e-filing, certified copy applications, and physical or hybrid hearing options, into a unified single-login interface, offering a more seamless user experience.
Highlighting the technological shift, the CJI noted that the platform is being developed with Artificial Intelligence integration, describing it as a major step forward. He remarked that the AI component is still evolving and emphasised that its effective implementation will depend heavily on the cooperation and feedback of the Bar.
The Court also clarified that the transition will take place in stages. Both the existing and the new e-filing systems will run concurrently during the rollout to ensure uninterrupted access.
The Chief Justice further underscored that the objective behind the upgraded portal is to improve efficiency and convenience for court users, ensuring smoother digital interaction for lawyers and litigants alike.
