In a significant development, the Supreme Court Collegium has proposed the elevation of 26 individuals to the Bench of the Allahabad High Court. The recommendations include 12 members from the Bar and 14 serving judicial officers.

Among the advocates, Senior Advocates Garima Prashad, Swarupama Chaturvedi, and Abdhesh Kumar Chaudhary stand out as practitioners before the Supreme Court. Notably, Garima Prashad is also functioning as the Additional Advocate General of Uttar Pradesh.

The list of recommended advocates comprises Vivek Saran, Adnan Ahmad, Vivek Kumar Singh, Garima Prashad, Sudhanshu Chauhan, Abdhesh Kumar Chaudhary, Swarupama Chaturvedi, Jai Krishna Upadhyay, Siddharth Nandan, Kunal Ravi Singh, Indrajeet Shukla, and Satya Veer Singh.

As for the judicial officers, the Collegium has proposed the elevation of Dr. Ajay Kumar-II, Chawan Prakash, Divesh Chandra Samant, Prashant Mishra-I, Tarun Saxena, Rajeev Bharti, Padam Narain Mishra, Lakshmi Kant Shukla, Jai Prakash Tiwari, Devendra Singh-I, Sanjiv Kumar, Vani Ranjan Agrawal, Achal Sachdev, and Babita Rani.

With these recommendations, the Collegium has taken a step toward strengthening the judicial strength of the Allahabad High Court, which has long been grappling with a heavy pendency of cases.
