The President of India has assented to the appoitnment of Justice Ashish Jitendra Desai as Acting Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court.
The notification issued by the Law Ministry has notified that "In exercise of the power conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint, Shri Justice Ashish Jitendra Desai, senior most puisne Judge of Gujarat High Court, to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of that High Court with effect from 26.02.2023 consequent upon the retirement of Miss Justice Sonia Giridhar Gokani, Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court."
