The state of Tripura will soon have a national law university as a bill seeking its establishment is going to be tabled in the assembly's next session, as told by a top official from the education department of the state on Saturday.
The soon-to-be established university will commence its academic activities from the Tripura Judicial Academy building for the upcoming academic session and it will be shifted to a new building later, the official informed further.

The official also said that Tripura Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath met with concerned officials for pushing the plan of setting up a full-fledged law university.
Committee to suggest appointment to be constituted
"A committee comprising state government representatives, judges of Tripura High Court and legal experts will be constituted to suggest the process for appointment of chancellor, vice-chancellor and faculty members. The panel will also finalise the courses to be offered," said the official further.
Aim to make an institution of national importance
He added that the Tripura government wants to make this university an institution of national importance for producing quality lawyers.
A law college with a capacity of 60 students is located in Tripura.
