The President of India has assented to the appointment of two Judicial Officers as Permanent Judges of the Himachal Pradesh High Court.

The notification issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice has notified that “In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint S/Shri

(1) Sushil Kukreja and

(2) Virender Singh,

to be Judges of the Himachal Pradesh High Court, in that order of seniority, with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices.”

Himachal Pradesh High Court has sanctioned strength of 17 judges, having vacancy of 8 judges. With these appointments the vacancies reduces to 11.
