The CBI Court, Jabalpur, on 20.08.2025, has convicted and sentenced three accused namely, Vishal Kumar Ahirwar, the then Sub Post Master, Sub Post office, Bina LSG, District Sagar, M.P, Hemant Singh, the then Sub Post Master, Sub Post office, Bina LSG, District Sagar, M.P. and Smt. Ranu Namdeo, the then Sub Post Master, Sub Post office, Bina LSG, District Sagar, M.P. in a Corruption case.
The accused Vishal Kumar Ahirwar has been sentenced to 5 Years Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) with a fine of Rs.39,000/-. Hemant Singh and Smt. Ranu Namdeo have been sentenced to 4 Years RI with fine of Rs. 7,000/- each.
The case was registered on 17.11.2022 against Shri Vishal Kumar Ahirwar, then Postal Assistant, Sub-Post Office, Bina LSG, Sagar (MP) and others on the allegation that during the period 01.01.2020 to 05.07.2021, while functioning as Public Servants in the capacity of Postal Assistants at Bina LSG Sub-Post Office, Tehsil Bina, District Sagar (MP), they misused their official positions by manipulating several accounts maintained at the said Post Office and issuing forged passbooks. In this manner, the accused persons caused wrongful loss of Rs.1,21,82,921/- to the Government exchequer and corresponding wrongful gain to themselves.
After completion of investigation, a charge sheet was filed against all three accused persons on 29.12.2023 before the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Jabalpur.
After the trial, the Court convicted and sentenced the three accused accordingly.
