The Ld. Spl. Judge, Anti Corruption, CBI Court No. 4, Lucknow today i.e. 18.01.2025 sentenced Hari Shankar Pandey, then Head Constable of Railway Protection Force (RPF), Post-Mirzapur, District- Mirzapur to 04 years’ Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) with fine of Rs. 2 lakh in a case of bribery.
CBI had registered the instant case on 11.12.2014 against said accused on allegations that accused demanded bribe of Rs.30,000/- from the complainant for allowing smooth operation of his stall at Mirzapur Railway Station and not harassing his vendors. It was further alleged that accused had threatened to close the stall and implicate the complainant and his elder brother in false case in case of non-payment of the bribe amount.
A trap was laid by CBI on 11.12.2014 and accused was caught red handed while demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs.15,000/- as part payment of the demanded bribe from the complainant.
After investigation, CBI filed chargesheet on 31.12.2014 against accused.
The Court, after trial, found accused guilty and sentenced him accordingly.
