The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested an Assistant Audit Officer, PAG (Audit-1), Bhubaneswar for demanding & accepting bribe of Rs. 6,500/- from the Complainant.
A case was registered on complaint against an Assistant Audit Officer, PAG (Audit-1), Bhubaneswar on the allegations of demanding bribe of Rs. 6,500/- from Complainant for not raising any audit objection on medical bills of his office. It was further alleged that the accused demanded said bribe of Rs. 6,500/- (@ 10% of the bill amount), as he had not objected medical bills of Rs. 65,000/- during audit.
CBI laid a trap and caught the accused while demanding & accepting bribe of Rs. 6,500/- from the Complainant. Searches were conducted at the premises of accused at Bhubaneswar and Visakhapatnam which led to recovery of documents related to immovable properties at Bhubaneswar, Visakhapatnam & Berhampur.
The arrested accused will be produced today in the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Bhubaneswar.
