The President of India has assented to the appointment of Justice Sathya Narayana Prasad as Additional Judge of Madras High Court.
The notification issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice has notified that, “In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri J. Sathya Narayana Prasad, to be an Additional Judge of the Madras High Court, for a period of two years, with effect on the date he assumes charge of his office.”
The Madras High Court had a sanctioned strength of 75 but was functioning with 56 judges only.
