On Tuesday, a security scare rippled through Gujarat after bomb threat emails were sent to multiple district courts, forcing evacuations and intensive checks across key judicial complexes in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and other cities. The coordinated threats, arriving just a day after similar emails targeted dozens of schools, have heightened concerns over repeated hoaxes disrupting public institutions.
The threat messages were emailed to official court addresses, prompting swift responses from local police and security agencies. Courts in Vadodara, Valsad, and Rajkot were among those affected, with premises evacuated as a precaution. Senior police officers oversaw anti-sabotage sweeps, while court operations were temporarily halted.
The incident followed a spate of bomb threat emails sent to over 25 schools in Ahmedabad earlier this week, and similar alerts reported last month ahead of Republic Day, suggesting a troubling pattern of anonymous intimidation.
While no judicial order was passed, authorities treated the threats as serious security inputs, ordering evacuations and comprehensive checks to ensure safety. Officials reiterated that every alert is assessed on merit and that strict action will follow against those responsible for sending hoax threats.
Normalcy was restored after searches found no suspicious objects, and investigations were initiated to trace the source of the emails.
