Mr. Sumit Bajaj, learned counsel holding brief of Mr. Saurabh Kumar Pandey, learned counsel for the applicant.
2. Mr. B.N. Molakhi, learned Deputy Advocate General for the State.
3. This is a short term bail application seeking release of the applicant-Sumit Gangwar on short term bail in FIR No.0257 of 2025, under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act, registered at Police Station Mukhani, District Nainital.
4. The grounds for seeking short term bail mentioned in para 6 of the affidavit in support of the short term bail application wherein it is stated that the father of the applicant died on 25.01.2026 and the applicant's presence is crucial for performing last rites/funeral ceremony.
5. Counsel for the State does not deny this averment.
6. In view of the above, short term bail application is allowed.
7. Let the applicant-Sumit Gangwar be enlarged on short term bail only for a period of two weeks only from the date of his release, on his executing a personal bond and reliable sureties to the satisfaction of the Court concerned.
8. Applicant is directed to forthwith surrender after the expiry of the said time.
9. Short term bail application is disposed of accordingly.
