The case is taken up today before the National Lok Adalat.

The applicant was convicted and sentenced for the offence punishable under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, vide judgment and order dated 30.06.2025 passed by the Judicial Magistrate/1st ACJ, Haridwar, in Complaint Case No. 1777 of 2020. The criminal appeal preferred against the said judgment was dismissed for want of prosecution on 28.08.2025.

Before the Lok Adalat, the parties are present before the Court through video conferencing and have amicably settled the dispute. It is submitted that the respondent/complainant has received a sum of Rs. 4,60,000/- from the applicant and does not wish to press Complaint Case No. 1777 of 2020, M/s Tyagi Provision Store vs. Anil Verma, under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. It is further submitted that, in view of the compromise arrived at between the parties, the judgment and order dated 30.06.2025 passed by the Judicial Magistrate/1st ACJ, Haridwar, may be quashed.

In view of the aforesaid submissions, the application stands dismissed as withdrawn. Consequently, the judgment and order dated 30.06.2025 passed by the Judicial Magistrate/1st ACJ, Haridwar, in Complaint Case No. 1777 of 2020 is hereby quashed on the basis of the compromise.

Pending application, if any, also stands disposed of.

The terms of the compromise have been recorded in a separate compromise sheet, which shall form part of this order.
