1. Mr. Abhijay Negi and Ms. Snigdha Tiwari, learned counsels for the petitioner.
2. Dr. Kartikey Hari Gupta, learned counsel for respondent no.1.
3. Mr. Shobhit Saharia, Mr. Rafat Munir Ali and Ms. Irum Zeba, learned counsels for respondent no.2.
4. Ms. Anjali Bhargava, learned counsel for respondent no.3- UGC.
5. During the course of hearing, we have inquired from learned counsel appearing for the UGC whether the NET Linguistic can be a substitute of NET English. She submits that, as per the UGC Codes, English stands at Sl. No.30, and Linguistic stands at Sl. No.31 and, therefore, NET Linguistic cannot be equated with NET English.
6. Let a short affidavit in this regard be field by the UGC within the next five days, as prayed for, with a copy to learned counsels appearing for the parties.
7. Arguments heard.
8. Judgment reserved.
