None is present for the appellant. Mr. LalitMiglani, AGA for the State. The instant appeal is preferred against the judgment and order dated 30.03.2019 passed in Special Session Trial No. 29 of 2018, State vs. Virendra Lal @ Gulli,by the court of learned District and Sessions Judge/Children Court PauriGarhwal.By the impugned judgment and order the appellant has been convicted under Section 9/10 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and sentenced accordingly.
The appeal was admitted on 17.05.2019. Initially, the appellant appeared but thereafter he remained absent.Non- bailablewarrant of arrest was issued against him and he is nowin custody.
Today, he joined the proceedings from District Court,Haridwar. The court is informed that the appellant is detained in the Special Home, Roshnabad, DistrictHaridwar.
The court requested to Mr. M.A. Khan to assist the Court in this case. He agreed.
Mr. M.A. khan is appointed as Amicus Curiaein this case.
Let the paper book be prepared and provided to him, as per Rules.
Learned Registrar Judicial is requested to coordinate a meeting through video conferencing between the learned Amicus Curiae and the appellant within next seven days.
