                            HIGH COURT OF TRIPURA
                                  AGARTALA
                             WP(C) No.197 of 2026
Sri Jugal Debbarma & Anr.

                                    Versus
State of Tripura & 4 Ors.
                                                              ----Respondent(s)

For Petitioner(s) : Mr. Tapash Datta Majumder, Sr. Adv.

Mr. Dalit Kalai, Adv.

For Respondent(s) : Ms. Pinki Chakraborty, Adv.

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE BISWAJIT PALIT Order 01/04/2026

Heard Learned Senior Counsel, Mr. Tapash Datta Majumder

assisted by Learned Counsel, Mr. Dalit Kalai appearing on behalf of the

petitioners. Also heard Learned Counsel, Ms. Pinki Chakraborty appearing on

behalf of the respondents-State.

It is a case for regularization of the service of the petitioners.

Learned Senior Counsel for the petitioners submitted that the

petitioners earlier approached this Court for regularization. However,

Learned Single Judge dismissed the petition filed by the petitioners.

Thereafter, the petitioners preferred an appeal bearing WA No.10 of 2023

before this Court which was also dismissed. The petitioner then filed an SLP

bearing No.12943 of 2024 before the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India and by

order dated 24.02.2026, Hon'ble the Apex Court quashed the judgment and

order dated 05.03.2024 passed by a Division Bench of this Court in WA

No.10 of 2023.

Learned Senior Counsel further submitted that inspite of specific

direction of the Hon'ble Apex Court, no step has yet been taken by the

State-respondents for regularization of the petitioners, which compelled

them to file the present petition.

In view of the submissions made by Learned Senior Counsel for

the petitioners, issue notice upon the respondents.

Since Learned Counsel, Ms. Pinki Chakraborty appears and

accepts notice on behalf of all the respondents, issuance of formal notice is

waived.

List the matter on 22.06.2026. In the meantime, the

respondents-State may file their reply, if they so desire, supplying copy to

the other side.
