2. In this writ petition, the petitioner inter alia has prayed for
the following relief:
"For the reasons stated in the accompanying affidavit, the petitioner herein prays that this Hon'ble Court may be pleased to issue a Writ or Order or Direction, more particularly, one in the nature of Writ of Mandamus declaring the action of the first and second respondent universities in distributing the backlog vacancies of Associate Professor and Assistant Professor in the meeting held on 17.12.2017 on the basis of the guidelines decided by both the Vice Chancellors of first and ::2::
second respondents without there being the approval of such guidelines by the third and fourth respondents and the consequential notification issued by the first respondent in Advt.No.03/RC/2018 dated 16.03.2018 by treating the faculty of Veterinary Science as a unit for the post of Associate Professor as well as Assistant Professor as illegal, arbitrary, contrary to the judgment of the Division Bench dated 11.06.2018 passed in W.P.No.15970 of 2018 and contrary to Letter No.F.1-5/2006 (SCT) dated 05.03.2018 of the fifth respondent and set aside the same and consequentially direct the first respondent to issue fresh notification for limited recruitment treating the Department/ Subject as a unit for the post of Associate Professor and Assistant Professor after determining the back log vacancies between the first and second respondent universities on the basis of the guidelines approved by third and fourth respondents and pass such other order or orders as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of the case."

3. It appears that the issue involved in the writ petition has
been rendered academic. However, the Writ Petition is
disposed of with the liberty to the petitioner to make an
application seeking revival of this writ petition in case his
grievance still survives. No costs.
As a sequel, miscellaneous petitions, pending if any, stand
closed.
