                 WRIT PETITION (PIL) No.241 of 2018

ORDER:    (Per the Hon'ble the Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma)




        The present public interest litigation has been filed for

enforcement of the directions issued by the Hon'ble Supreme

Court in SLP(C).No.25237 of 2010, dated 10.12.2013.                             This

Court has dealt with a similar issue in W.P.(PIL).No.217 of

2018.

        In the light of the order passed in W.P.(PIL).No.217 of

2018, dated 15.02.2022, the State Government is directed to

ensure that the judgment delivered by the Hon'ble Supreme

Court is complied with and there is no deviation/non-

compliance of the order dated 10.12.2013.                             The State shall

also ensure that sirens and hooters, which are allegedly being

used by all the heads of the Government departments,

politicians and self proclaimed VIPs as well as other persons,

are removed forthwith from the vehicle. It is also brought to

the notice of this Court that while using the number plate,

instead of there being number, all kinds of descriptions are

there    on    the      number          plate.       Therefore,       the   transport

department shall take stringent action against such persons

also and to ensure that the number plate identifying the

vehicle is in accordance with the Motor Vehicles Act and the

Rules framed thereunder.

      With the aforesaid, the public interest litigation is

disposed of.

      Miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed.

There shall be no order as to costs.
