AWARD OF LOK ADALAT

The matter was placed before the Lok Adalat today. The parties have settled the matter through Lok Adalat as under:-

CMA No.883/2013 has been filed by the appellant(s)/claimant(s) for enhancement of compensation awarded to the appellant(s)/claimant(s) to the tune of 15,18,190/- by the learned Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, Bhilwara vide award dated 07.01.2013 in MAC Case No.2/2013 (39/09, 51/09).

CMA No.93/2014 has been filed by the Insurance Company against the judgment and award dated 07.01.2013 passed by the learned Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, Bhilwara in MAC Case No.2/2013 (39/09, 51/09), awarding compensation of Rs.15,18,190/- to the claimants.

In the spirit of Lok Adalat, the Insurance Company which has already paid Rs. 10,00,000/- in compliance of the award in question, will further deposit a sum of Rs.6,50,000/- towards full and final settlement of the claim made by the claimants and rest of the amount payable in terms of the award shall stand relinquished. Such amount shall be deposited within a period of two months from today with the learned Tribunal, failing which the Insurance Company shall pay the interest @ 9% per annum on the enhanced compensation amount, till actual payment is made.

In view of the above, with the consent of both the parties, the instant civil misc. appeals are hereby disposed of.

The Registry is directed to send back the record forthwith.
