DATE OF HEARING & DATE OF JUDGMENT:21.04.2026(ORAL)

G. Satapathy, J.

1. Since these three bail applications arise out of

one and same case record, the same are heard together

and disposed of by this common order with the consent of

the learned counsel for the parties.

2. These three bail applications are U/S.483 of

BNSS by the petitioners for grant of bail in connection

with Angul PS Case No.43 of 2026 arising out of GR Case

No.102 of 2026 for commission of offences punishable

BLAPL Nos.874 of 2026 & other cases

U/Ss. 189(2)/140(2)/115(2)/190 of BNS pending in the

Court of learned SDJM, Angul, on the main allegation of

abducting the victim Pravat Kumar Pradhan and

attempting to his life by assaulting and robbing his

valuables showing arms and obtaining his signature

forcibly on some papers regarding payment of some

amount in future.

3. Heard, Mr. Dharanidhar Nayak, learned Sr.

counsel who is being assisted by Mr. Akash Bhuyan,

learned counsel for the Petitioner in BLAPL No. 874 of

2026; Mr. Rakesh Behera, learned counsel for the

Petitioners in BLAPL Nos. 2016 & 2017 of 2026; Mr. Amit

Prasad Bose, learned counsel for the informant in BLAPL

No. 874 of 2026 & Mr. P. Satpathy, learned Addl. PP in

the matter and perused the record.

4. Mr. Amit Prasad Bose, learned counsel for the

informant in BLAPL No. 874 of 2026 while elaborating his

submission makes it clear that the Petitioner Satyabrata

Samal @ Bangara along with co-accused Gunil

Kumar Nayak had allegedly picked up the victim and

BLAPL Nos.874 of 2026 & other cases

took him to the house of the Petitioner-Pintu @

Pradyumna Kumar Nanda, but subsequently, they threw

the victim under Mango tree near the Police Station,

however, the forwarding report of the Petitioner Pintu @

Pradyumna Kumar Nanda discloses the following:-

"Further, it is ascertained that there was dispute between the victim Pravat Kumar Pradhan and accused Pradyumna Kumar Nanda over the outstanding money. In this connection Pradyumna Kumar Nanda had lodged a FIR against the victim Pravat Kumar Pradhan at Angul P.S which refers to Angul P.S Case No. 1022 Dt. 12.10.2025 U/S-316(2)/318(4)/296/351(2) BNS and the case has been Charge Sheeted vide CS No- 1220 Dt.27.11.2025 against the victim Pravat Kumar Pradhan. On 15.01.2026 at about 10A.M the victim Pravat Kumar Pradhan had been to Registrar office, Angul for his work. At about 12.30 PM, Pradyumna Kumar Nanda arrived there for his work. Seeing the victim, Pintu @ Pradyumna Kumar Nanda asked him where is his money and scolded him and dragged him holding his collar and threatened against dire consequence. Saying so he forcibly took away the victim in a scooty to an abandoned place located at Durga Vihar, Angul via- hotel Kamalesh, Raj hotel chhak where he along with his associates detained him under a tree and covered him in a blanket and assaulted the victim. By that time Pintu Nanda asked his associates to open the gun to shoot. Saying so he took away his signature in a paper. Then he brought him and left at Angul PS."

5. It is also borne out from the record that the

victim has not sustained any kind of injuries. Besides, the BLAPL Nos.874 of 2026 & other cases

submission as advanced for the informant discloses

allegation against Satyabrata Samal @ Bangara for

forcibly taking away the victim, but the forwarding report

of Petitioner Pintu @ Pradyumna Kumar Nanda discloses

that the victim was forcibly taken away by the Petitioner-

Pintu @ Pradyumna Kumar Nanda, however, the

Petitioner Pintu @ Pradyumna Kumar Nanda & Satyabrata

Samal @ Bangara are two different persons. There are

allegedly some monetary transactions between the victim

and the Petitioners Pintu @ Pradyumna Kumar Nanda. In

the meantime, charge sheet has already been submitted,

but the Petitioners are in custody since 15.01.2026. In

the aforesaid facts and circumstances and taking into

account the pre-trial detention of the petitioners in

custody with submission of charge sheet, this Court

without expressing any view on merits admits each of the

Petitioners to bail, but subject to certain condition.

6. Hence, all the three bail applications of the

Petitioners namely Pintu @ Pradyumna Kumar Nanda,

Satyabrata Samal @ Bangara & Kuna @ Premananda

Dash in BLAPL Nos. 874, 2016 and 2017 of 2026 stand BLAPL Nos.874 of 2026 & other cases

allowed and they are allowed to go on bail on furnishing

bail bonds of Rs.50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand) each

with one solvent surety for the like amount to the

satisfaction of the learned Court in seisin of the case in

each of the five cases on such terms and conditions as

deem fit and proper by it with following conditions:-

(i) the petitioners shall not contact the victim or visit his house and

(ii) the petitioners shall not threaten/ induce/ influence/coerce any of the witnesses including the victim and his family members acquainted with the facts of the case so as to dissuade them from disclosing such facts before the Court.

7. Accordingly, these three bail applications stand

disposed of. Issue urgent certified copy of the order as per

Rules. A soft copy of this order be immediately

communicated to the concerned Court, who shall

afterwards communicate the same to the concerned Jail

through e-mail for reference.
