05. 1. This matter is taken up through Hybrid Arrangement (Virtual/Physical) Mode.
2. Heard learned counsel appearing for the Parties.
3. All these Writ Petitions have been filed inter alia with a prayer to provide appointment to the Petitioners as they have come out successful in the recruitment conducted by State Selection Board, Odisha Police vide Advertisement dtd.22.09.2024 and their names have been included in the final select list published by the Board with issuance of the order of appointment, subsequently kept in abeyance.
4. It is contended by the learned Advocate General appearing for the State that pursuant to the order // 2 //
passed by the learned Single Judge vide his judgment dtd.05.12.2024 in W.P.(C) No.26079 of 2024 and batch and further order passed on 13.03.2025 in W.A. No.3321 of 2024, out of the 1800 over aged candidates, who were allowed to participate in the selection process 77 candidates have come out successful.
4.1. It is also contended that while accommodating those 77 candidates it was found that 41 candidates are to be ousted from the select list already published by the Board. However, Government has taken a conscious decision to accommodate the 77 over aged candidates, as well as the 41 candidates, who were found to be excluded from the earlier merit list by creating 41 nos. of supernumerary posts.
4.2. It is also contended that all those candidates who were selected earlier including the 77 over aged candidates, will be issued with the order of appointment on a single date taking into account the option exercised by them and the vacancies available in the concerned battalion. It is accordingly contended that the Opposite Parties be permitted to complete the recruitment process.
5. Learned counsels appearing for the Petitioners have no objection to the course of action proposed by the learned Advocate General.
6. Considering the submissions made, this Court while disposing all the Writ Petitions, directs the Opposite
