  01.       1.      This matter is taken up through Hybrid arrangement

(video conferencing/physical mode).

2. This Criminal Appeal has been filed by the victim as well as the Informant in Dharmasala PS Case No.265 of 2020 which corresponds to C.T.(Sess.) No.8 of 2021 in which the Respondent No.1-Sunil Kumar Jena faced trial in the court of the learned Sessions Judge, Jajpur under Sections 302/307/324/323/201 of the IPC and vide judgment and order dated 06.03.2025, the Respondent No.1 was found guilty under Section 302/307/326/324/323/201 of the IPC on the ground that it's a case of double murder and who are the parents of the Appellant No.1 and also a case in which attempt has been made to commit murder of the Appellant No.1 and therefore, the learned trial court should have imposed death sentence taking it as rarest of rare case whereas the minimum punishment for sentence of life imprisonment has been awarded for the offence under Section 302 of the IPC.

Learned counsel for the State has received the copy of the Appeal Memo and the impugned judgment and seeks some time to obtain instructions as to whether there is any proposal for challenging the quantum of sentence imposed by the learned trial court.

3. Put up this matter in the week commencing from 01.09.2025 along with CRLA No.535 of 2025.
