[1] Present Mr. K.R. Pamei, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. Th. Sushilkumar, learned counsel for respondent No.

2. [2] The petitioner is aggrieved by freezing of her SBI salary account bearing No. 37061438064 opened with SBI Tera Branch on allegation of transaction of disputed amount of Rs. 20,000/-. Due to this, the petitioner is not able to operate her salary account and is facing difficulty. It is prayed that the respondent's bank be directed to allow the petitioner to operate her account keeping on hold disputed amount of Rs. 20,000/-.

[3] Mr. Th. Sushilkumar, learned counsel for respondent No. 2 (SBI Tera Branch), submits that the blocking and freezing of the account is done by SBI Head Office, Ahmedabad Branch Code: 3975 Local Head Office and order for defreezing has to be issued by respondent No. 1 and respondent No. 2 is only a local branch and has no authority in freezing or defreezing of the account. It is also submitted

Page 1 that if the prayer for interim relief is granted, it will amount to disposal of the writ petition and the writ petition may be disposed of by directing respondent No. 1 to defreeze the account of the petitioner by keeping on hold a sum of Rs. 20,000/-.

[4] This Court has considered the materials on record. Writ petition is disposed of by directing respondent No. 1 i.e. General Manager, Local Head Office SBI Branch Code: 3975, Ahmedabad to defreeze the account of the petitioner bearing SBI account No. 37061438064 opened at Tera Branch Imphal by keeping a lien of Rs. 20,000/- (disputed amount). Respondent No. 2 shall inform respondent No. 1 about this order.

[5] With this observation, writ petition is disposed of. Misc. application is also closed.
