HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE AHANTHEM BIMOL SINGH

09.02.2026

Mr. RK. Umakanta, learned Sr. counsel and GA

assisted by W. Niranjit, learned Dy. GA appeared on behalf of the

respondent no. 1; Mr. Y. Nirmolchand, learned Sr. counsel assisted

by Ms. Neha, learned counsel appeared on behalf of the

respondent no. 2; and Mr. P. Tamphamani, learned counsel

appeared on behalf of the respondent no. 3.

Mr. Y. Nirmolchand, learned Sr. counsel appearing for

the respondent no. 2 submitted that the respondent did not

commit any contempt of this court and in this regard he has

prepared an application for closing the contempt petition on the

ground that no contempt is made out. The learned Sr. counsel

accordingly seeks two weeks' time as a last chance for filing the

said application.

Page 1 This prayer is vehemently objected to by Mr. M.

Hemchandra, learned Sr. counsel appearing for the petitioner on

the ground that the petitioner is going to retire from service w.e.f.

28.02.2026 on attaining the age of superannuation. The learned

Sr. counsel accordingly prays for taking up this matter as early as

possible.

Be that as it may, as this is a contempt petition, the

petitioner can pursue the same even after his retirement.

As prayed for, list this case again on 26.02.2026.

It is made clear no further time will be given to the

respondents for filing their application or affidavit to defend

themselves in connection to this contempt case.

JUDGE

Lucy
