                      Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for
                issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the 4th respondent to perform the
                Sathumurai Celebration (birthday celebration) to the Parasarar Bhattar for every
                Tamil year Vaikasi month, Anusham Natchathiram without discrimination.

This writ petition has been filed for the issue of a writ of Mandamus

directing the respondents, more particularly, the 4th respondent to perform the

Sathumurai Celebration to Sri Parasarar Bhattar during every Tamil year Vaikasi

month, by considering the representation made by the petitioner in this regard on

30.05.2025.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional

Government Pleaders, appearing on behalf of the respondents and perused the

materials placed on record.

3. The case of the petitioner is that the 4th respondent is celebrating

Sathumurai festival to all 12 Azhwars and 7 Achariars, except Sri Parasarar

Bhattar, who is also one of the Achariars. The learned counsel for the petitioner is

also placing reliance upon the orders passed by the Commissioner, Hindu

Religious & Charitable Endowments Department, in O.A.No.332/1941 and also a

judgment passed in A.S.No.147/1946 and the order dated 03.11.2006 passed in

R.P.No.257/2005 . Since the Sathumurai celebration of Sri Parasarar Bhattar was

not celebrated, the petitioner submitted a representation before the 4th respondent.

Since the same did not evoke any response, the present writ petition has been filed.

4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the

materials placed before this Court and considering the grievance expressed by the

petitioner, there shall be a direction to the 4th respondent to deal with the

representation made by the petitioner on 30.05.2025 on its own merits and take a

decision within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this

order.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
