PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to
direct the respondents to release the petitioner's husband by name Kathirvel
(C.P.No.3977) son of Vellaichamy, aged about 48 years now lodged and confined
at Central Prison, Madurai have completed the more than 20 years of actual
sentence on the basis the advisory board scheme Rule 341(2) Tamil Nadu Prison
Rules 1983 and under guidelines laid down by this Court in H.C.P(MD)No.540 of
2016 (Veerabharathi Vs State of Tamil Nadu) by considering petitioner's
representation dated 18.05.2022 in accordance with law within the time stipulated
by this Court.

2. This is a petition for considering the representation of the petitioner for
premature release of the life convict Kathirvel (C.P.No.3977).
3. The respondents have filed counter, wherein, it is stated that the proposal
for premature release is under active consideration of the first respondent.
4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents
states that appropriate decision will be taken within a period of eight weeks.
5. Recording the submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor,
this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
