ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed for a direction to the respondent to
consider the representation made on 01.08.2023 and to furnish the relevant
records to the petitioner pertaining to the pending cases against the brother

of the petitioner.
2. Heard Mr.R.Arunkumar, learned counsel for petitioner and
Mr.A.Damodaran, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for
respondent.
3. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that totally
thirteen (13) cases were registered against the brother of the petitioner out
of which, the petitioner's brother was acquitted in twelve (12) cases. The
petitioner's brother faced trial in S.C.No.306 of 2013 on the file of VII
Additional Sessions Judge, Chennai, arising out of Crime No.920 of 2012
and by judgment dated 05.03.2018, he was convicted and sentenced to
undergo ten years rigorous imprisonment.
4. Learned counsel for petitioner submitted that the petitioner's
brother is not mentally sound and the petitioner, therefore, wanted to
ascertain the number of cases that are pending against her brother.
5. In the light of the submissions made by learned Additional Public

Prosecutor, it is seen that out of thirteen (13) cases registered against the
petitioner's brother, he was acquitted in twelve (12) cases and that in only
one case, he was convicted and sentenced in S.C.No.306 of 2013 on the file
of VII Additional Sessions Judge, Chennai. The petitioner's brother is also
serving the sentence imposed in this case. The details that have been sought
for by the petitioner has now been given and there is no further requirement
to direct the respondent to furnish the details once again.
Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
