Counsel for the petitioner referred the recent judgment of Apex Court in the case of Salib @ Shalu @ Salim Vs. State of U.P. and others , 2023 SCC OnLine SC 947 and submits that in a cognizable offence, police has power to investigate. Section 195-A of IPC is a cognizable offence.

After arguing for a while, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he intends to go through certain judgments of Apex Court specially C. Muniyappan and Others Vs. State of Tamilnadu, (2010) 9 SCC 567.

At his request, matter is placed in the next week.
