It is submitted that departmental inquiry against petitioner was dispensed with. No evidence was taken and decision was taken by order dated 18.02.2020.

It is submitted that his case is squarely covered by judgment passed by Apex Court in the matter of Tarsem Singh Vs. State of Punjab & Ors. [2006] 13 SCC 581.

Counsel appearing for State prays for short time to file reply. Prayer made by counsel appearing for respondents is allowed.

Respondent is granted four weeks time to file response to the writ petition.
