JUDGMENT
Dated this the 9th day of February, 2024
The petitioner, who has applied for correction of Date of
Birth in his Passport, has approached this Court seeking to
direct the 1st respondent-Regional Passport Officer to consider
Ext.P4 representation as per Ext.P7 guidelines in a time fixed
by this Court.
2. The Deputy Solicitor General of India, on
instructions, submits that an application for correction of date
of birth has to be made online provided in the portal of the
Passport Organisation. Evidently, the petitioner has not made
an online application in the proper format.
In the circumstances of the case, the writ petition is
disposed of directing the petitioner to make an online
application for date of birth correction. If the petitioner makes
an online application, the 1st respondent shall consider the
same and take a decision thereon, as expeditiously as
possible.
